Stratos Renewables Corporation (OTC BB: SRNW) is currently in the development stages of becoming the first-to-market sugarcane ethanol producer in Peru. Stratos plans to utilize the country’s underdeveloped northern coastal region to cultivate and harvest its sugarcane in order to offer competitive industry, environmental and economic advantages of low-cost, high-yield sugarcane ethanol production. Peru has specific cost advantages including higher than average yields of sugarcane, coastal logistics for transport to the port, ideal location for export to the largest markets, and duty-free to the U.S. avoiding the import tariff incurred by Brazilian-exported ethanol.
Some of I2BF’s co-investors in the project include institutional groups RNK Capital, ARC Investment Partners, Whitebox, and Valhalla group of funds.
Stratos’ existing brownfield expansion and new Greenfield development will be financed through a combination of debt and equity and will have a total capacity of 45 million gallons per year (MGY) in its first stage, then scaling up to 180 MGY in its final phase.
